A show I have been Watching on TV Helps me Believe this Is True! It is about a hospital in Toronto and it is the Chief of Surgery that has a car accident and Survives. With just one factor He is living with a Traumatic Brain Injury after the Crash!
Hospital visits make me nervous. Seeing someone in her most vulnerable state makes me feel vulnerable. So when I visited a friend in the hospital on Sunday, I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Instead of visiting her, I immediately felt like she was visiting me. I’d never been more at ease in a hospital room.
And then she asked me one question which will echo in my head for years to come, I’m sure.
It was an innocent question from someone putting the pieces back together after a horrific accident that resulted in a brain injury.
As she smiled, looked me in the eye and waited for my answer, I stumbled with a quick story. But when I left, I thought about that question all day.
What was my favorite thing I’ve done all year? Blank. It’s a simple question with a very deep reminder – GO. LIVE.
